Daniel Americo Bruce [#216514], 43, of Sanger, was disbarred effective Dec. 30, 2017, and ordered to notify his clients of the discipline and perform other obligations under rule 9.20 of the California Rules of Court. The State Bar Court found that Bruce did not participate in a State Bar disciplinary proceeding, his default was entered and the factual allegations against him were deemed admitted. The allegations included his failure to comply with the conditions of his probation for prior acts of misconduct. That misconduct related to Bruce’s earlier discipline for having held himself out as entitled to practice law and actually practicing law when he was serving a suspension for having failed to timely pay his annual bar dues. He failed to respond to the allegations, failed to comply with six court orders, failed to report judicial sanctions and failed to cooperate in the State Bar’s investigation.
