February 7, 2018
Jaime Edwards Quadra, [#228956], 40, of Auburn was disbarred effective Feb. 7, 2018, ordered to notify all her clients of the discipline and to perform other obligations under rule 9.20 of the California Rules of Court. Quadra, whose practice included real estate law and civil litigation was found culpable in 15 counts of misconduct involving three client matters. In all three cases she was found to have failed to communicate significant developments in the matters to her clients. In one case she failed to advise her client their case had been dismissed and that their former attorney, her partner, had been disbarred. In another case she failed to tell her clients that she had filed the lawsuit listing an out-of-state property rather than one located in California, and that the case had been dismissed. In the third case she failed to tell the client a loan modification had been offered. In all three cases Quadra was also found to have failed to refund unearned advanced fees and to promptly turn over client papers and property upon termination of her employment as counsel. She was also found to have taken fees for a loan modification before it had been completed, and to have initiated a claim without client authority. Quadra was ordered to pay restitution to two clients in the amounts of $28,290, plus interest. Quadra failed to file a response to the charges or provide any defense or mitigation evidence. She has no prior disciplinary matters.
